Another name: Corredeira (1923-1953)
This Sant’Anna do Jacaré (= Holy Anne of the Alligator) was since May 1872 a district in the municipality of Campo Bello, situated over 250 km west of the province capital Ouro Preto. In September 1887 it changed to the municipality of Oliveira and between September 1923 and December 1953 it was called Corredeira (Rapids). Since then it is the municipality of Santana do Jacaré.
According to Paula Sobrinho (História Postal de Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, 1997), the local post office originated in November 1881, which could be confirmed by the Rio press:

The imperial cancel SMG-3690a (Col. Fuad Ferreira Fo.) has a double circle with the inscriptions ST. ANNA DO JACARÉ above and (MINAS) below. Dates in the centre from 1888 to at least 1894.

Diese Sant’Anna do Jacaré (= Heilige Anne vom Krokodil) war seit Mai 1872 ein Distrikt im Município von Campo Bello und lag über 250 km westlich der ehemaligen Provinzhauptstadt Ouro Preto entfernt. Im September 1887 wechselte er zum Município von Oliveira und hieß zwischen September 1923 und Dezember 1953 Corredeira (Stromschnelle). Seitdem ist es der Município von Santana do Jacaré.
Laut Paula Sobrinho (História Postal de Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, 1997) gibt es dort ein Postamt seit November 1881, was von der Presse in Rio bestätigt werden konnte:

Ein kaiserlicher Stempel wurde gefunden: SMG-3690a (Col. Fuad Ferreira Fo.) hat einen Doppelkreis mit den Inschriften ST. ANNA DO JACARÉ oben und (MINAS) unten. Die Datierung in der Mitte reicht von 1888 bis mindestens 1894.
