This Campo Bom of the imperial province of Santa Catarina was a settlement of the Vila de Laguna, 160 km south of the provincial capital Desterro (today: Florianópolis), from about 1869. In March 1880 it was declared a Freguesia de N. Sra. das Dores de Jaguaruna and in January 1891 it was elevated to the status of Vila. Between August 1923 and December 1930, it was downgraded to the District of Laguna, before regaining the Município status.
There was a post office since March 1884, according to the regional press:
It is remarkable that the place was still mentioned as Campo Bom, although at that time the new official name Jaguaruna had already been in force for four years. It is therefore possible that there is an imperial postmark under Campo Bom, especially as Jaguaruna postmarks are only known from 1890 onwards.

Dieser Campo Bom der kaiserlichen Provinz Santa Catarina war ab etwa 1869 eine Siedlung der Vila de Laguna, 160 km südlich der Provinzhauptstadt Desterro (heute: Florianópolis). Im März 1880 wurde sie zur Freguesia de N. Sra. das Dores de Jaguaruna erklärt und im Januar 1891 zur Vila erhoben. Zwischen August 1923 und Dezember 1930 wurde sie zum Distrikt von Laguna herabgestuft, bevor sie den Status eines Município wiedererlangte.
Seit März 1884 gab es dort ein Postamt, wie die regionale Presse berichtet:
Bemerkenswert ist, dass der Ort noch als Campo Bom erwähnt wurde, obwohl zu diesem Zeitpunkt der neue offizielle Name Jaguaruna bereits seit vier Jahren in Kraft war. Es ist daher möglich, dass es einen kaiserlichen Poststempel unter Campo Bom gibt, zumal Jaguaruna-Stempel erst ab 1890 bekannt sind.
