Lagoa do Carro station was opened in February 1882 by the railway company E.F. do Limoeiro, Bom Jardim Branch, on the south bank of the Tracunhaém in the Município de Pau d’Alho, 60 km north-west of the provincial capital Recife. The line went to Great Western in 1882 and belonged to Rede Ferroviária do Nordeste from 1950 until it was closed in 1968. Today, the tracks have disappeared and the station building was still used as a residential building in 2021.
The area around the station belonged to the Município de Floresta dos Leões from July 1909 and to the Município de Carpina from December 1938. Since October 1991, it has belonged to the Município de Lagoa do Carro.
As the Rio press reported, in October 1882 a railway station post office was created:
R. Koester writes in Carimbologia XXVI that the postal agency did not start operating until 1886. No imperial postmark from the Lagoa do Carro railway station has yet been found.

Der Bahnhof Lagoa do Carro wurde im Februar 1882 von der Eisenbahngesellschaft E.F. do Limoeiro, Zweig Bom Jardim, eröffnet und lag am Südufer des Tracunhaém im Município de Pau d’Alho, 60 km nordwestlich der Provinzhauptstadt Recife. Die Strecke ging 1882 an die Great Western und gehörte von 1950 bis zu ihrer Stilllegung 1968 der Rede Ferroviária do Nordeste. Heute sind die Gleise verschwunden, das Bahnhofsgebäude diente 2021 noch als Wohnhaus.
Das Gebiet um den Bahnhof gehörte ab Juli 1909 zum Município de Floresta dos Leões und ab Dezember 1938 zum Município de Carpina. Seit Oktober 1991 gehört es zum Município de Lagoa do Carro.
Wie die Presse von Rio berichtete, wurde im Oktober 1882 die Einrichtung eines Bahnhofspostamtes beschlossen:
R. Koester schreibt in Carimbologia XXVI, dass die Postagentur erst 1886 ihren Betrieb aufnahm. Bisher wurde kein kaiserlicher Poststempel vom Bahnhof Lagoa do Carro gefunden.
