The Morro Pelado (Bald Mountain) railway station was opened in July 1885 by the Cia. Rioclarense railway company (Jaú branch). It was located in the municipality of Rio Claro, 215 kilometres north-west of the provincial capital São Paulo. The line then changed hands twice: in 1888 it went to the Rio Claro Railway and in 1892 to Cia. Paulista. In 1916, a new station was built one kilometre further on and the station was given the name Itirapina (Bare Mountain in Tupi-Guaraní). This was also the name of the municipality newly founded in March 1935. Today, the station building appears to be abandoned.
R. Koester writes in Carimbologia XXVII that there has been a post office there since 1886. The imperial postmark is MSP-0835a (illustration from the internet and also Koester, op. cit.).

A estação ferroviária Morro Pelado foi inaugurada em julho de 1885 pela Companhia Rioclarense (ramal de Jaú). Ela ficava no município de Rio Claro, 215 quilômetros a noroeste da capital do estado, São Paulo. Depois disso, a linha mudou de proprietário duas vezes: em 1888, passou para a Rio Claro Railway e, em 1892, para a Cia. Paulista. Em 1916, foi construída uma nova estação ferroviária um quilômetro adiante, que recebeu o nome de Itirapina (Morro Calvo em tupi-guarani). Esse também foi o nome dado ao município recém-fundado em março de 1935. Hoje, o prédio da estação parece estar abandonado.

Der Bahnhof Morro Pelado (Kahler Berg) wurde im Juli 1885 von der Eisenbahngesellschaft Cia. Rioclarense (Jaú-Zweig) eröffnet. Er lag im Município de Rio Claro, 215 Kilometer nordwestlich der Provinzhauptstadt São Paulo. Danach wechselte die Linie zweimal den Besitzer: 1888 ging sie an die Rio Claro Railway und 1892 an die Cia. Paulista. Im Jahr 1916 wurde ein neuer Bahnhof einen Kilometer weiter gebaut und die Station erhielt den Namen Itirapina (Kahler Berg in Tupi-Guaraní). So hieß auch der im März 1935 neu gegründete Munizip. Heute scheint das Bahnhofsgebäude verlassen zu sein.
