The Freguesia de Nova Trento, settled by Italian colonists, had existed since April 1884. It belonged to the Vila de Tijucas, was located on the north bank of the Rio do Braço and was 90 km northwest of the provincial capital Desterro (today Florianópolis). Nova Trento has been an independent municipality since August 1892.
R. Koester writes in XXVIII that in February 1887, it was decided to establish a local post office. However, according to the provincial president’s report, it was still not in operation in October.
To date, no imperial postmark from Nova Trento has been sighted.
A Freguesia de Nova Trento, colonizada por italianos, existia desde abril de 1884. Pertencia à Vila de Tijucas, ficava na margem norte do Rio do Braço e localizava-se 90 km a noroeste da capital provincial Desterro (hoje Florianópolis). Desde agosto de 1892, Nova Trento é um município independente.
R. Koester escreve em Carimbologia XXVIII que, em fevereiro de 1887, foi criada uma agência dos correios no local. No entanto, em outubro daquele ano ela ainda não estava em funcionamento, segundo o relatório provincial.
Até o momento, também não foi encontrado nenhum carimbo postal imperial de Nova Trento.
Die von italienischen Kolonisten besiedelte Freguesia de Nova Trento bestand seit April 1884. Sie gehörte zur Vila de Tijucas, lag am Nordufer des Rio do Braço und befand sich 90 km nordwestlich der Provinzhauptstadt Desterro (heute Florianópolis). Seit August 1892 ist Nova Trento eine eigenständige Gemeinde.
R. Koester schreibt in Carimbologia XXVIII, dass im Februar 1887 die Einrichtung eines Postamts vor Ort beschlossen wurde. Allerdings war dieses im Oktober immer noch nicht in Betrieb, wie aus dem Bericht des Provinzpräsidenten hervorgeht.
Bisher wurde auch kein kaiserlicher Poststempel aus Nova Trento gesichtet.
