There were two Ribeiras in the province of São Paulo which opened post offices during the Empire of Brazil. Both located in the South, near the border to Paraná, and both touched by the Ribeira (also called Ribeira de Iguape) River. The first one was Capella da Ribeira, which was founded in 1872 as a district of the municipality of Apiahy, and acquired the political emancipation in 1910.
The creation date of the post office is still unknown, but it must have occurred by 1886, since it was twice mentioned in 1887:
According to Correio Paulistano, mailing services were offered three times monthly between Ribeira and Apiahy. The Horário Postal was published in October 1887 and tells there were 3-4 mailing days in a month between Ribeira and the capital São Paulo, and the route passed through Apiahy.
Only one imperial cancel from Ribeira de Apiahy has appeared so far. RSP-1075a (Coll. Rodrigo Baldassare) is a double circle as a French type:
The earlier RSP-1075a was probably mistakenly assigned to this locality in Carimbologia Q-R, but probably comes from the older Ribeira de Iguape post office (RSP-1076).

Es gab wohl zwei Ribeiras in São Paulo, die im brasilianischen Kaiserreich ihre Postämter geöffnet haben. Beide lagen im Süden der Provinz, nahe an der Grenze zu Paraná, und beide auch entlang des Ribeira-Tals (der Fluss heißt auch Ribeira de Iguape). Die erste Ortschaft wurde auch Capella da Ribeira genannt, wurde 1872 als ein Distrikt von Apiahy gegründet und erhielt ihre Autonomie als Município in 1910.
Bisher konnte das Datum des Postamtes nicht ermittelt werden. Dennoch, es muss bis 1886 stattgefunden haben, denn die Agentur wurde in 1887 gleich zweimal erwähnt:
Laut Correio Paulistano gab es damals drei Postverbindungen im Monat zwischen Ribeira und Apiahy. Der Horário Postal wurde im Oktober 1887 veröffentlicht; demnach hatte man 3-4 Postverbindungen monatlich zwischen Ribeira und der Provinzhauptstadt São Paulo. Diese Route ging durch Apiahy.
Nur ein kaiserlicher Stempel aus Ribeira de Apiahy ist bisher aufgetaucht. RSP-1075a (Samml. Rodrigo Baldassare) ist ein Doppelkreis als französischer Typ:
Der frühere RSP-1075a wurde wohl irrtümlich in Carimbologia Q-R dieser Ortschaft zugeordnet, stammt aber wahrscheinlich aus dem älteren Postamt von Ribeira de Iguape (RSP-1076).
