The Freguesia de Senhor Bom Jesus de Panelas existed since March 1846 and belonged to the Vila de Caruaru. It was located 190 km southwest of the provincial capital Recife. In May 1870, it became a Vila and in July 1909 a city. The alternative place name Panelas de Miranda refers to the Portuguese landowner Manoel Santiago de Miranda, who lived there at the end of the 18th century.
As can be seen from the postal report (Relatorio Postal) for the year 1886, there had been a post office there since 1870. The only imperial postmark to date is the French type PPE-0445b (collection Fuad Ferreira Fo.):

Conforme consta no Relatório Postal de 1886, havia uma agência dos correios no local desde 1870. O único carimbo postal imperial encontrado até o momento é do tipo francês PPE-0445b (coleção Fuad Ferreira Fo.):

Der alternative Ortsname Panelas de Miranda bezieht sich auf den portugiesischen Großgrundbesitzer Manoel Santiago de Miranda, der Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts dort lebte.
Wie aus dem Postbericht (Relatorio Postal) für das Jahr 1886 hervorgeht, gab es dort ein Postamt seit 1870. Der bisher einzige kaiserliche Poststempel ist der französische Typ PPE-0445b (Samml. Fuad Ferreira Fo.):
